Scarab Triathlon Club
You can't crush the beetle!
Welcome to Scarab Tri. Based in the Wilmslow/South Manchester area we welcome anyone wanting to give triathlon a go, as well as more experienced triathletes who are looking to train in a friendly and supportive community.
Originally formed in 2000, when it was the only Triathlon club in South Manchester, it was based at the Hazel Grove pool and later at Cheadle, before finding its current home at Wilmslow Leisure Centre. The club started as a Junior Club with talented swimmers who succesfully made the transition to Triathlon. The team gained results at the regional championships and qualified for the County team, competing for the National Junior Team Triathlon Championships.
To date, the Club has produced one age group World Duathlon Champion, together with several World and European age group qualifiers.
These days, the Club has evolved into a predominantly seniors (adult) group, with five structured training sessions per week at three venues, plus informal opportunities to meet and train with other group members. Participants of all ages and abilities are welcomed.
Triathlon combines swimming, cycling and running into one event. A lot of our members started as swimmers (hence our name: Swimmers Can Also Run And Bike), but we offer opportunities to train with like-minded people in all 3 disciplines.
The site is divided up by sport, with our training calendar and useful links. Take a look around and we look forward to welcoming you to some of our sessions!
