Membership of the club is required to attend swimming sessions. We allow new / prospective members to attend a couple of times without paying for membership to make sure the club is for them, but in order to comply with Wilmslow Leisure Centre's Covid 19 policy we require everybody attending the swim sessions to complete a number of forms (see below).
Our coaches give their spare time freely for the swimming sessions - we do not pay them, unlike a number of clubs in the Greater Manchester area. This does mean that we are able to keep our membership costs relatively low, although there are a number of expenses which the membership fees pay for:
Public liability insurance.
The costs of retaining essential qualifications (First Aid etc).
Purchase and maintenance of equipment (floats etc.) which are used in the swimming sessions.
We do ask that people try to make it to swimming sessions when they can, as the pool hire fee is fixed and paid irrespective of how many people turn up on the night.
Returning to Pool training under Covid19
Under the current circumstances, we are limited to a maximum of 25 swimmers at each pool session. We are also required by the Leisure Centre to hold up-to-date contact details for each athlete that trains with us.
We are therefore taking bookings via a separate page, ClubSpark, which allows you to pay for your session in advance. Bookings will be opened weekly for the next week's session, so that we don't have people block-booking spaces in advance.
If you are a new joiner, or wish to attend a session before becoming a member, you will need to complete a membership form and then pay your membership once you decide that the group is for you (hopefully!).
All swimmers will need to complete a Covid Declaration Form and Health Survey, which can be downloaded using the links below, and bring them to their first session.
Everybody is reminded that it has taken months to get to this point, so it is absolutely imperative that if you are exhibiting one or more of the symptoms of Covid19 (high temperature, new continuous cough, loss of taste or smell), living with anyone who has self-isolated due to the presence of one of the above symptoms, or has otherwise been in contact with someone who has tested positive you must not attend swimming sessions.
